PTA Program Selects James Hideg as Clinical Instructor of Year

James Hideg was selected as 2019 Clinical Instructor of the Year by students and staff of the physical therapist assistant program at ��ɬ�� East Liverpool. A licensed physical therapist, he is the owner and president of University Sports Physical Therapy, located in Youngstown.

As a clinical instructor, Hideg works with PTA students who are placed in the facility as part of their educational experience and training. He has been an active clinical instructor for ��ɬ��’s physical therapist assistant program at the East Liverpool and Ashtabula campuses for several years.

Hideg is a credentialed clinical instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association and a certified athletic trainer. He is active in his community and highly involved with youth athletes in the Youngstown area.

Hideg was nominated for this award by ��ɬ�� East Liverpool PTA students. “He challenged me and allowed me to think critically, and he encouraged me to believe in myself,” stated one student.

James Hannon Serving as Interim Dean for Salem and Stark Campuses

James C. Hannon, Ph.D., began his appointment as interim dean and chief administrative officer of ��ɬ�� Salem and ��ɬ�� Stark on July 1. “I’m truly excited to begin this new chapter alongside everyone at the Salem and Stark campuses. I’m quickly learning that these are warm, dedicated and passionate communities and I feel incredibly fortunate to be joining them,” he said.

Top of the Class at ��ɬ�� Salem

Denise A. Seachrist, Ph.D., dean of ��ɬ�� at Salem, announced those students named to the Spring 2025 President’s and Dean’s lists. To qualify for the President’s List, students must have a 4.0 grade point average and must have completed 15 hours during the semester. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must earn a 3.40 or greater grade point average and must have completed 12 or more credit hours for the semester, the majority at the Salem Campus.

Brad Bielski, Ph.D., dean of ��ɬ�� at East Liverpool, announced those students named to the Spring 2025 President’s and Dean’s lists. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must earn a 3.40 or greater grade point average and must have completed 12 or more credit hours for the semester, the majority at the East Liverpool Campus.
