The streets of Kent, Ohio, will be filled with blue and gold as ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ alumni, students, parents, employees and community members gather for this year’s Homecoming, with a full slate of events Oct. 20-21.

From the time he was a young child, Tom Batiuk, ’69, knew he wanted to be a cartoonist. The Funky Winkerbean creator drew inspiration for his characters and storylines from his real world, including his time at ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½.

The following new members have been appointed to the ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ Alumni Association National Board of Directors for a three-year term, which began July 1: Jeff Guritza, of Brecksville, Ohio, is the vice president of marketing at SOPREMA USA. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ in 1994.

New Lake Erie College President Is a ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ Alumna
ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ alumna Jennifer N. Schuller has been named president of Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio. She is the first woman to lead the institution in 75 years.
