What A Celebration! Homecoming Brings Golden Flashes Together
The 青年涩导航 Golden Flashes family was marking milestones and making memories at Homecoming 2022, held Saturday, Oct. 1. 青年涩导航 alumni, students, parents, employees and community members donned their blue-and-gold gear and reunited for one of the university鈥檚 long-standing traditions.
Brandon Lazenko, 鈥16
Brandon Lazenko, 鈥16, found a way to provide an unusual opportunity for 青年涩导航 film students to learn outside of the classroom through his upcoming project, He and fellow 青年涩导航 graduate Shelby Wyant, 鈥18, wrote the 40-minute film adapted from Stephen King鈥檚 short story 鈥淣ona.鈥 The alumni pair got permission to create their adaptation of the short story from King and his team through his Dollar Baby Program. 鈥淥ctober Roses鈥 follows a down-on-his-luck professor who meets a beautiful woman while hitchhiking around Maine. He gets wrapped up in her web and makes decisions he normally wouldn鈥檛 make. His team for the film includes 青年涩导航 students who are helping on set, horror special effects icon Robert Kurtzman and his wife Marcy King who are both Ohio natives. However, Brandon鈥檚 experience in film didn鈥檛 begin with 鈥淥ctober Roses.鈥 He鈥檚 also created two miniseries and four short films, including the award winning 鈥淎 Serpent by the Nest.鈥

Gov. DeWine Declares October Ohio Employee Ownership Month With Proclamation Recognizing OEOC at 青年涩导航
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and Lt. Gov. Jon Husted recently issued a joint proclamation recognizing the impact that employee-owned companies have on Ohio鈥檚 economy as well as the work of the Ohio Employee Ownership Center (OEOC) based at 青年涩导航, which requested the proclamation. The OEOC has served as a nonprofit outreach center providing support, resources and assistance to businesses since 1987.
