ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½â€™s Director of Public Safety and Police Chief Dean Tondiglia was honored with the university’s 2019 Diversity Trailblazer Award for his years of promoting inclusion and diversity within public safety.

ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ Robotics Team Places Third in NASA Robotics Mining Competition
From November 2017 to the day of the competition in May, the ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ Robotics team spent months preparing for the competition held at the Kennedy Space Center. The competition is designed to mimic the procedure of having a robot on Mars if sent there by NASA. Along with 44 other university teams, the team worked together to design and construct a robot that is fashioned to mine simulated Martian terrain along with the gravel below it.

Radd Ehrman, Ph.D., who teaches languages including Latin, is one of three educators honored with the Distinguished Teaching Award, the highest teaching award a tenured or tenure-track professor can receive. All tenured and tenure-track professors are eligible to receive the award which is sponsored by the ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ Alumni Association.

A prominent political strategist, lawyer and advocate for positive change in the political process served as the keynote speaker at ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½â€™s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration. Angela Rye, principal and CEO of IMPACT Strategies, joined the university in celebrating the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. on Jan. 23 in the Kent Student Center Ballroom.
